We are one of the largest independent bookstores in New Jersey, with more than 15,000 square feet of new & used books.

Music Is Back in Montclair!Over the past year "The Downstairs" at MBC has developed into a record store featuring 1000's of vinyl gems from old LPs to 12 inch singles. We also feature CDs and collectible items with new stock arriving almost daily. An incredible array of great albums from jazz to rock, to comedy to classical is available at downtown Montclair's well-known independent bookstore!
We work with local dealers as suppliers to rapidly grow our extensive stock. Many sell for as little as $2.99 and range upward to $10.99 with many collectible pieces available as well.
