(Oversized: may incur additional shipping charges, especially if ordered with international or priority shipping.) Springfield, MA: G. & C. Merriam Co. Publishers, 1934. Very Good condition. 2nd edition, 1st printing, in original maroon cloth, faux-leather binding (believed to possibly be Fabrikoid or buckram). Some rubbing to outer hinges along the front and rear faces, as well as the corners of the fore edge. Both the top edge and bottom edge of the textblock are marbled, though superficial scratching to the bottom edge has rendered the marbling largely faded. The top edge marbling remains bright and intact. The first page following the front free end-papers, featuring charts of U.S. Flags, has separated from the binding, but remains intact and is now laid-in. The tissue guard to the frontis piece portrait of Merriam Webster has some minor tears and pieces missing, but remains largely complete. The textblock is otherwise unmarred, with small marks of previous dog ears along a scarce number of pages. Otherwise, the textblock is in very good condition and entirely readable. Some small rubbing is visible to the leather tab index notches along the fore-edge, but these remain complete and intact.
