Last year, we asked you for feedback after our inaugural Haunted House. Your response? "Longer." "Scarier!" "MORE!"

And since you asked, we're answering! Join us again for a delightfully frightening experience that's twice as long and more formidable than last year. As you peek behind the veil of this world into the shadows of the other world, will you indulge in our tale or put yourself at risk becoming a part of it?

Those brave enough to face our endless maze of bookshelves will explore new sections of the store with more scares around every corner. Encounter ghostly apparitions, creepy creatures, and hair-raising surprises at every turn. Whether you're a horror enthusiast or simply seeking a thrilling night out, this event is not to be missed!

How do we purchase tickets?

Tickets can either be purchased through Eventbrite, which is linked above, or day-of at a table settled near the entrance of the event.

How long does the Haunted Labyrinth take to get through?

We expect the whole tour to last approximately 10 minutes per group and we will be running two groups at a time. Please be mindful, though, that if there is a line, you're night out may be longer than anticipated.

Can we bring food, drinks, or vapes?

No. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing these items as spillages that require cleaning will cause longer wait times and smoke will damage the inventory.

Is this event suitable for children and pets?

While we love to hear the delighted pitter-patter of children and pets running through our shelves during normal operating hours, we do not recommend anyone who walks on four feet or is under the age of 13 join you on this frightful escapade.

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

No. There will be many tight areas to walk through and areas where some people may need to duck so as to not hit the ceiling. Unfortunately, if you have severe mobility concerns, you will not be able to access the whole of the area encompassed to fully enjoy our harrowing halls..

Will there be strobe lights or smoke machines?

Any flashing lights or smoke machines will be outside and accessory to the event. We will never use strobe lights or smoke machines within our Haunted Labyrinth.

Will the actors touch or otherwise harm me?

There is an all-around "no touching" policy. If you don't touch us with the intent to harm anyone, we won't touch you.

Are there any ways to escape the haunted labyrinth if I start to feel unsafe?

Yes. There is almost always an exit nearby that the guide or actors will lead you to if you should start feeling uncomfortable or unsafe.

How do we redeem tickets purchased online?

Our ferryman/ticket-holder will have a printed list of all the registered guests who purchased a ticket online. When it's your turn to do so, simply tell this person you've purchased your tickets online and your name, and they will grant passage into the event.

Will we get candy after the event?

Yes, but please be mindful that we are not accommodating for dietary restrictions or allergies in our candy selection. Please know your limitations and carefully read the ingredients before enjoying the candy you receive.

How can we leave our feedback for next year?

We will provide you a QR code that leads to a Google Feedback Form at the exit where you'll receive candy.

Can we purchase anything during the event?

The Montclair Book Center will not be open for sales. You may, however, purchase items at our partner businesses White Rabbit, Black Heart and DollyMoo, at the beginning and end of the event respectively.
